The World Health Organization announced on Wednesday that it was considering declaring the current Ebola outbreak an international public health emergency.
The news comes as there are growing fears the virus may have made its way to Saudi Arabia. A Saudi Arabian businessman is currently hospitalized with Ebola-like symptoms and his samples have been sent to the U.S. and Germany for testing.
WHO announced that it will convene a panel of experts in the next few days to better deal with the virus. It also said that there have been 108 newly diagnosed Ebola cases just from Saturday to Monday. That brings Ebola’s total to 1,711 cases and 932 deaths. On a positive note, the New York man feared to have Ebola has tested negative for the virus.
